Hi. I unknowingly sent my son Cooper to “class” last night not knowing that it was a testing night. His grandmother texted me to tell me that he should not be there. My first thought was oh no, my poor boy probably feels so embarrassed and left out. The next text I received from my mom was her saying how welcoming and accepting your team was to Cooper! You had him “test” and even rewarded him with a black stripe on his white belt! I can’t thank you all enough for turning my mistake into a positive, rewarding evening for Cooper. I know I’ve made the right choice in choosing ATA! Thank you thank you!
Thank you, Ms Hoogheem and the team at Karate Frankfort for running a great tournament on the weekend. It was an exceptional tournament for your maiden effort and was professional in every way.
I especially thought the positioning of the central podium was very well done as it allowed judges and competitors an easily accessible point for assignment details and inquiries.
Again – thanks.
Sophia enjoys Karate so much. It’s nice to see her show interest for an activity. She fell in love with Karate and I think it brings out the best in her. I felt really proud to see her active and keeping up with the boys. And for that I thank you.
I really enjoy your school and so does Andres, he has learned so much. I have witnessed a change in his personality and character. I thank you for all those things because I know that without your school this would not have been possible.
The ATA Tiger curriculum program was developed specifically for preschool age children ages 2 through 6. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. In addition, the program is designed to improve children’s motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions.
This curriculum should provide students with the most fun and exciting training methods available for this age group. This program works in conjunction with other programs, thereby emphasizing the same important monthly themes and value system. Upon graduation from the ATA Tigers program into the “Junior” or “Big Kid” program, Tigers are rewarded by the opportunity to wear the “Big Kids” or “Karate for Kids” patch.
The rank and testing system used by the Tigers is slightly different than others as well. Tigers can earn eight collectible animal patches to display on the belts as follows: Tiger for orange belt; Cheetah for yellow; Lion for camo; Eagle for green; Phoenix for purple; Dragon for blue; Cobra for brown; Panther for red. All eight patches, as earned, can be displayed on the child’s belt. ATA Tigers have their own unique victory patch and “Victory Stars.”
Four different colored victory patches are available to accommodate all the stars that can be earned by a high achieving ATA Tiger.
Karate for Kids
ATA Karate for kids is a specialized program created exclusively for children. The Karate for Kids program includes two age groups, both of which teach the fundamentals of martial arts for kids. Pre-school karate for kids classes for children ages 3-6 and the karate for kids classes are for children ages 7 through 12. The foundation of the Karate for Kids curriculum is the education and development of life-skills such as positive mental attitude, high goal setting, perseverance, self-control and confidence.
Karate for Kids training is designed to be fun and fulfilling for each student. This is because Taekwondo is an individual activity rather than a team sport. Therefore every student is an active and valuable participant in class. They work out with kids their own age and progress at their own pace.
The ATA Karate for Kids program is perfect for parents looking for an activity that is not just great exercise but that also teaches their school age children lessons they will use throughout their life. The way children learn and what motivates them is the reason we offer a program exclusively for children.
Since its introduction in 1986, the Karate for Kids program has helped children all over the world learn Discipline, Self-Esteem and Respect. By combining the Discipline of traditional martial arts, learning Respect through life skill development and the Self-Esteem gained through our unique reward system, your child will advance in the martial arts while reaching their fullest potential.
Since martial arts is an individual activity rather than a team sport, each child is an active and valuable participant in the class. They train with kids their own age and size under well supervised conditions while progressing at their own pace.
The ATA Martial Arts curriculum program is customized for adult men and women. Unlike a children’s program, adult programs focus on high-intensity fitness and real self-defense that applies in today’s world.
Most adults can only do so many aerobic classes or run so many solo miles before they start dreaming of something more enjoyable and exciting to do to stay in shape. The ATA Adult martial arts curriculum is a great way to stay in shape that doesn’t become dull or routine because as soon as you get better and learn more there are always more challenges ahead to keep you inspired and coming back to the school.
Men and women often join to for the ability to take care of oneself in any potentially dangerous, or uncomfortable situation, even though most of our adults seldom, if ever, get into a fighting situation. They often find themselves, however, in an uncomfortable situation, such as walking to their car late at night, or escorting their spouse or friend in a less than secure neighborhood. It’s at times like this that martial arts training greatly enhances your ability to really take care of yourself, or someone you care for, when the time arises.
These fitness based martial arts for adults classes will help you reach your stated goals. Running and mountain biking are still great activities, but if that’s all you do for your fitness you may end up limiting your flexibility. Because these activities are basically ‘linear’ in nature they don’t challenge you to develop in all the areas of fitness. That is why most professional athletes cross train outside of their chosen sport. There is nothing like martial arts training to develop you into your maximum potential both physically and mentally.
